Welcome to Cardiff Aircooled Vdub Club.

First a bit of history...

In 1992, a club was set up for people in the Cardiff area to share a passion in aircooled Volkswagens. This club was called Cardiff Insane Aircooled and it's members would meet up religiously every fortnight at The Nine Giants pub, Cardiff.

By the way, the word 'Insane' was added to make the acronym CIA which seemed like a good idea at the time! Having said that, I think some of the people were insane.

Anyway, over the years the club has survived all the fads and crazes - from the height of 'cal look' to the current .....err, 'cal look'? Along the way we gained many new members, changed the meeting venue and generally became less insane.

Nine years later and we decided it was time for a change.

The club got a radically different(!) new name, we changed back to the original meeting venue and gave ourselves a sparkly new logo.

Four years after that we thought it was time to change the venue again. This time we’ve moved around the corner to the Deri Inn.

And then finally in 2006 we've moved venue again! This time down to Cardiff Bay, at The Hemmingway Pub/Restaurant - which is lovely, and all are welcome!

What we do.

The official club meeting takes place at 9:00pm on the first Wednesday of each month at The Monkey Tree Pub (previously the Hemmingway, been recently re-branded), Cardiff (click here for directions).

We sit around and talk about VW's as well as much more rubbish! We some times even go to shows and do mini cruises etc!
